Change or disconnect your domain

You can move your site to a new domain or remove a domain at any time from My Sites.

Move your site to a new domain#

1. 1Open My Sites and find your site.
2. 2Press Change Domain next to the current domain.
3. 3Type the new domain and press "Change domain".
4. 4Add the 3 DNS records for the new domain at its registrar. See Connect a domain you already own.

Your current domain keeps working until the new one goes live, so there is no downtime. Your analytics, search rankings and everything else stay with the site.

Disconnect a domain#

1. 1Open the More actions menu on your site in My Sites.
2. 2Choose Disconnect Domain.
3. 3Press Disconnect to confirm.

The domain will no longer point to your site, and any domain subscription is canceled. If you bought the domain from us, you still own it until it expires.

Stop renewing a domain you bought#

Choose Release Domain in the More actions menu. The domain stays active and connected until the end of your billing period, and is not renewed after that.

Deleting a site#

Delete in the same menu removes your site and cancels all of its subscriptions. Tick "Also release domain (stop renewal)" to stop the domain renewing too. Leave it unticked and the domain stays valid until the end of its paid period.
