There are two safety nets: Undo for changes you just made, and Version History for everything you have published.

Undo recent changes

  1. 1In the editor, press Undo in the toolbar next to the chat to step back one change.
  2. 2Press it again to go back further.
  3. 3Press Redo to step forward again.

Undo remembers your last 20 changes while the editor is open. For anything older, use Version History.

Restore an earlier publish

Every publish is saved as a version.

  1. 1Press Version History in the editor toolbar.
  2. 2Find the version you want. Press Changes to see how it differs from what is in the editor now.
  3. 3Press "Publish this" to put that version live again. Or press "Open in editor" to load it and keep working.

Restoring never erases history. It publishes forward as a new version, so you can always come back.

Keep a version safe

We keep your 30 most recent unpinned versions. Press "Pin this version" to keep one, and Rename to give it a name you will remember, like Before spring update.

Questions

Does restoring delete my newer versions?

No. The old version is published forward as a new one, so the newer versions stay in the list.

Why don't I see Version History?

It shows for sites that have been published. Publish once and your versions start to appear.
