Turn on the AI chatbot

The chatbot is a chat bubble on your site that answers visitor questions day and night.

Turn it on#

1. 1Open your site in the editor and press Chat Widget in the toolbar.
2. 2Press "Add Chat Widget". We read your site and set up the chatbot, which takes a few seconds.
3. 3Make sure the switch at the top is on. When it is off, you see "Chat widget is disabled".
4. 4Type a question in the preview chat to test its answers.
5. 5Press Publish. The chatbot goes live with your site.

What it knows#

Your chatbot already knows your whole website. Every page, service, product and price is read for you and kept up to date each time you publish.

Under "What else should it know?", add anything your website does not say, and how it should behave. For example: Keep answers to 2 to 4 sentences. Never quote a firm price, offer a free estimate instead. We are closed the week of July 4th. What you write here is never overwritten.

Changed your site a lot? Press Regenerate to rebuild its info from your site. Your agent's name, title, avatar and colors are kept.

Make it yours#

• Agent Identity: avatar, name, title and the first message visitors see
• Hours & Contact: timezone, business hours, phone and email
• Human Handoff: phone numbers for calls and texts, offered when the AI cannot fully help
• Widget Colors: primary and secondary colors
• Open the chat automatically when the page loads: off by default

Read chats and take over#

In My Sites, press Conversations on your site to read every chat. Chats where the AI got a visitor's name, email or phone show "Contact captured". Tag, archive and trash chats just like form leads.

To reply yourself, open the chat in the InstantWebsite.com app on your phone. Once you reply, the AI pauses for that chat and it shows "AI paused". Under Human Handoff, turn on "Chat here" so visitors can stay in the chat while you reply from the app.
